I get a little nervous when I see major internet news/culture sites giving health advice, but this video from Buzzfeed is right on!
Another great one is this Mother Jones article that showcases foods most people think of as healthy by the number of Krispy Kreme donuts it would take to equal their sugar content (one that isn’t in the article- one Monster brand energy drink = the sugar in SIX Krispy Creme Donuts!) Food marked “low fat” are often the most serious culprits, since they’ve taken the fat out they usually add a ton of sugar to make up for it. What are your go-to health foods? Are there any that you found out later weren’t all they were cracked up to be?
